As a member of the Rye Chamber of Commerce, you receive:
• A local network of community business and residents that can help your business make connections and be part of upcoming events and opportunities in Rye.
• Separate evening networking events to provide collaboration of local businesses and professionals and a chance to meet other members in their place of business and future opportunities.
• Yearly Sidewalk Sale every July – Purchase Street opens as a collaborative event to all RCC members for an opportunity to sell discounted items, off-load inventory and set up booths to advertise your business. We promote and bring in numerous shoppers and diners from all over the surrounding counties.
• Mistletoe Magic – Our major event Thanksgiving weekend to promote our shopping district for the holidays while providing a very fun and full day of activities for kids and families (live music, bouncy castle, chili cook off, pony rides + more).
• Annual scholarship effort to raise funds for two Rye High School students who work for a Rye merchant for a minimum of 6 months.
• Visitor’s Guide/Directory – Our goal is to gather and keep all up to date member information on our website as a resource to all local business RCC members.
• Maintain a strong relationship with City Hall.
• Hyper-Local Social Media Exposure - We have an Instagram account with over 2000 local followers which is professionally run. Members can create or have help creating posts by our professional to generate more exposure to your business.
• We sponsor the Farmer's Market which is held every Sunday in the lot off of Theodore Fremd and behind Chase Bank – 8:30am to 2pm from June through September.
• Members have access to our monthly meetings. We, the board, present an agenda to review based on projects and tasks at hand. It’s a time for all businesses to learn about local opportunities, participate in local initiatives and bring NEW news and ideas to other local business owners and members. We also occasionally have guest speakers. Most recently we had a lawyer who educated us about scams targeting small businesses and how to react, as well as the new Rye Fire Chief who reminded us all about yearly fire safety inspections in our business locations with helpful tips to be prepared.
Due to insurance company requirements, only Rye Chamber of Commerce members who have paid their CURRENT YEAR dues are allowed to be a part of any upcoming meetings, activities or events sponsored by the Chamber, including the Sidewalk Sale.
